Until recently, I was still using the wet n wild tinted moisturizer I reviewed a while back, but it was too dark once I stopped fake tanning. When looking for a replacement, I saw this foundation at Rite Aid. I know what I’ve said about foundations in the past, but this one is fifty percent water so I thought I’d give it a shot.

Since it consists of water instead of oil, this makeup is supposed to be more skin-friendly and not cause breakouts. My current acne issues are not makeup-related, so I’m not sure how true that is. What I like about it is that I can’t feel it on my face. It also gives good coverage, and definitely hides those aforementioned breakouts.

Maybelline also says that this product reduces shine. I’ve been using a finishing powder over it and still winding up shiny. I’m not sure I can blame the makeup for that, however, and at least it’s not worse than usual for this time of year. The foundation does keep my face even-toned and smooth under the shine, which is more than I usually expect.

So there you have it. I found a foundation that I don’t hate. As a bonus, Rite at is having a BOGO on this product. I’m not sure if that’s in-store or online only, but it makes this a good time to try it out.

  1. Totally unrelated to this post but I just wanted to say that I’ve been meaning to look for the widget for the “You might like these stories” feature and I just saw it here and had to grab it. Thank you!! :) I’m so curious if people actually click on these…I guess we’ll see!

  2. I’m having trouble with the widget…it doesn’t seem to like my blog and keeps disappearing :(

I took it off because it kept recommending the post it was on and weird stuff like that, and I’m pretty sure it’s thrown off my AdSense. :/
